Old work of mine

My little niece loves to have her photograph taken but more importantly loves to hear old stories about my mam and dad (her nana and grandad) so I decided to create a double layout with herself in the photo and then telling the story.

When my mam and dad celebrated 40 years of marriage they renewed their vows and she just couldnt get over that they were getting married again!.. she was 6 at the time and thought it was just fantastic that she was going to their wedding.

In the photo above she actually asked my mam was she actually getting married again to grandad in 15 minutes... My mam told her she was...The journalling hasn't really come out in the photo but its lovely.. like a little fairytale story..

Well I certainly didnt keep my promise to myself to update my blog on a regular basis.. but I had very good intentions but with two small little ones its been difficult to keep this promise.

We have recently had a wedding in the family when my youngest sister married and she asked for my two little ones to be part of the bridal party by being a page boy and flowergirl.. We were all worried that the little fella wouldn't walk up the aisle but he was a little trooper and once he started he didn't stop.

A little man on a mission!!!

The newly weds!!!

The beautiful bride!!

It was a very emotional day for all the family!.

I have a few new posts to upload soon as they are in draft form with more pics... so until then xxx

busy busy busy

My crafty friend Michelle told me about an online crop that takes place on a Wednesday through facebook... Kirsty Wiseman's Crop so I decided to have a go and enjoy the chat, the sketches and the fact that I have finished layouts.
I am dreadful for taking pictures of my crafty work but because these have to be uploaded I don't get a choice

I love both of these layouts because they show how much our little man has changed in a few months.. He is totally blonde now and his little personality totally shines through him.

Also have been missing going to classes and crops, but the classes on a Thursday night just didnt suit as it clashed with bedtime etc., So I am delighted that we have got a room and there is 22 crafty women all getting together once a month to do what we do best, chat, craft and drink tea or coffee LOL..

So my Mojo Mojo is hopefully going to be back with a vengance as I have so much to do.

My sister is getting married next April and we have finally decided on the invitations that we are making after making several samples...

Halloween costumes have finally been purchased so photos to follow soon and another two layouts to add to the list...

Busy Busy Busy not to mention all the hospital appointments that we have between now and Christmas... cant believe christmas is just around the corner

till next time xxxx

Well I have failed miserably.... thats at keeping my promise to myself to update my blog regularly... There hasnt been much scrapbooking done lately but life has been hectic...so whats happened so far in 2010..... These will not be date order but hey at least they are getting blogged...

We received a new little arrival to our home to join her little brother... Welcome baby Saoirse... she arrived to us on the 30th March... she was a very big surprise as we had expected Warren to have a little brother joining him so we were thrilled when we found out it was a little girl...

I turned 40 this year... so we will soon see does Life begin at 40!! although I have to say I have no complaints about my life so far...

My lovely sisters and my niece....

To celebrate Warren turning 1 in February we went to Euro Disney and took our niece with us.. We had a great few days and the little man loved it...

My baby sister (who is 30 this year) announced her engagement to Eoin and set a date for an April 2011 wedding... Oh great excitement in our house....

My friend Michelle treated me to a very unusual 40th Birthday pressie... a Boudoir Photo Shoot... I have to say I had a fantastic afternoon... Photos were taken by the very talented Anna Evans and my hair and makeup were done my Ali Murphy... Two very gifted ladies...

Eurodisney
Engagement
Birthdays
its been all go go go !!!

Well I have attended my first wedding for 2010 but I certainly didn't expect to be at this wedding.... let me explain... My 5 year old niece has a doll called Lucy and for christmas she received a male doll called Luke from one of my sisters friends. However, Luke also came with a present for Lucy a full wedding outfit for both of them together with rings etc.,

So Lauren decided that she wanted them to get married and invited all of the family to the wedding on condition that we all made an effort and participated in the wedding.. Well we had a fabulous day of laughter and tears... the tears being from all the laughing.. We really got into the spirit of things for her and the photos tell the story... so see for yourself

A New Year and New Blog Start

Ok, I admit I was awful at blogging last year, but hey something happened in my life quite suddenly and it just changed my life and DH's life all for the better. When I explain I think I will be forgiven for neglecting my blog...

On the 14th April, I was sitting at my desk in work when I received a very unexpected phone call.. A social Worker was on the other phone informing me that my DH and I were being asked to foster a little boy of 8 weeks. As we had gone through quite a rough time with fostering in previous years, although we wanted to foster we didnt think it would ever happen let alone be a baby so young.
Well I left my career of 15 years at 1 o'clock that day having informed my boss that I wanted personal leave and I was in the Rotunda Hospital at 4 p.m. collecting this little bundle.

So this is the little man himself.....

So most of our 2009 year was spent caring for this little boy who we still have and we have just spent a lovely christmas together. Its the first year that Santa has had to visit our house so it was very special for all three of us.

2009 did see other events happen and to name a few
Special birthdays included DH turning 40....
My Aunt Kay turning 70 and she and her husband also celebrating being married 50 years...
Weddings... Congratulations John and Ger who married in March.
Engagements... Congratulations to Tara and Keith...
Relationships.... Tara and Jeff rekindling their romance after about 15 years.... better late than never and I wish them all the very very best....
Friends having babies... welcome baby Joshua, baby Cian, Baby Robyn, baby Brooke and a few also announced pregnancies for babies due in 2010... best of luck, Geraldine due in March and Tara due in July.

Take That came to Croke Park... what a concert.....

My Mam and Dad Celebrated 40 years of Marriage and renewed their vows. It was an extra special evening in the house because the mass was celebrated by original Priest Fr. Murphy who did their wedding day mass in 1969.
We hired out chairs and chair covers to convert my sitting room into a little church... complete with alter, candles etc., My best friend Tara ( who was always known as the 6th daughter helped convert the sitting room into such a tranquil setting for such a very special mass....

My good friend Michelle made a bouquet for my Mam to hold on the evening especially for photos.

As we had over 70 guests, we had to ensure that not only was inside nice but the garden as well...

My 5 year old niece Lauren couldn't believe nana and granddad were getting married again and she kept saying she was marrying her granddad.....
Its very rare to get a family photo of everyone... but for such a special occasion we were all there....

DH and myself sharing a quiet moment captured by Michelle who took fabulous photos on the evening...

October seen the safe arrival of Lauren's longed for baby sister Lana.... she was born on the 30th of October by an emergency CS...

2009 was not all happy events as in October my DH's daddy passed away peacefully after a few weeks of being unwell. He was a lovely quiet man and its very hard on the family.. RIP Gerry and keep smiling down on us all..xxxx

So I made a New Years Resolution that I was going to try and blog in 2010.... so here it goes.

Christmas... DH cooked dinner on Christmas Day for ourselves and 10 family members. I had great intentions of taking photos of the table however, the best laid plans never happen.. Little fella wasn't well and we ended up paying a visit to Temple Street that evening as his temperature had gone to 40.9 and I couldn't get it to come down.. It was so busy... but after 1 a.m. they were happy that his temp and checkup were o.k. and they let us home.

We didn't do much over the Christmas except relax, eat, watch t.v. and of course play with our little man which was lovely.....

New Years Day it was a repeat performance of the dinner but thankfully without the drama of the hospital visit... We were not sure if we were even going to have guests because of the amount of snow that had fallen on News Years Eve... but they all braved the weather and arrived for dinner.... We toasted in the New Year with a lovely meal....

Christmas 2009 Photos...... our little Santa Baby

I am sorry for boring you so much with such a long blog, however, I promise they won't all be as long....
