Things to blog from 2009

Just giving myself a check list of what I need to blog to complete the year 2009..

I came under fire from my little sister because I forgot to mention my godson in my previous blog. I don't know how I could forget his milestones in 2009 but I am going to do a special blog dedicated to just him....

turning 18
doing his leaving cert
graduating from school

So now I just have to gather the photographs and upload them in order to complete the blog on him...

A New Year and New Blog Start

Ok, I admit I was awful at blogging last year, but hey something happened in my life quite suddenly and it just changed my life and DH's life all for the better. When I explain I think I will be forgiven for neglecting my blog...

On the 14th April, I was sitting at my desk in work when I received a very unexpected phone call.. A social Worker was on the other phone informing me that my DH and I were being asked to foster a little boy of 8 weeks. As we had gone through quite a rough time with fostering in previous years, although we wanted to foster we didnt think it would ever happen let alone be a baby so young.
Well I left my career of 15 years at 1 o'clock that day having informed my boss that I wanted personal leave and I was in the Rotunda Hospital at 4 p.m. collecting this little bundle.

So this is the little man himself.....

So most of our 2009 year was spent caring for this little boy who we still have and we have just spent a lovely christmas together. Its the first year that Santa has had to visit our house so it was very special for all three of us.

2009 did see other events happen and to name a few
Special birthdays included DH turning 40....
My Aunt Kay turning 70 and she and her husband also celebrating being married 50 years...
Weddings... Congratulations John and Ger who married in March.
Engagements... Congratulations to Tara and Keith...
Relationships.... Tara and Jeff rekindling their romance after about 15 years.... better late than never and I wish them all the very very best....
Friends having babies... welcome baby Joshua, baby Cian, Baby Robyn, baby Brooke and a few also announced pregnancies for babies due in 2010... best of luck, Geraldine due in March and Tara due in July.

Take That came to Croke Park... what a concert.....

My Mam and Dad Celebrated 40 years of Marriage and renewed their vows. It was an extra special evening in the house because the mass was celebrated by original Priest Fr. Murphy who did their wedding day mass in 1969.
We hired out chairs and chair covers to convert my sitting room into a little church... complete with alter, candles etc., My best friend Tara ( who was always known as the 6th daughter helped convert the sitting room into such a tranquil setting for such a very special mass....

My good friend Michelle made a bouquet for my Mam to hold on the evening especially for photos.

As we had over 70 guests, we had to ensure that not only was inside nice but the garden as well...

My 5 year old niece Lauren couldn't believe nana and granddad were getting married again and she kept saying she was marrying her granddad.....
Its very rare to get a family photo of everyone... but for such a special occasion we were all there....

DH and myself sharing a quiet moment captured by Michelle who took fabulous photos on the evening...

October seen the safe arrival of Lauren's longed for baby sister Lana.... she was born on the 30th of October by an emergency CS...

2009 was not all happy events as in October my DH's daddy passed away peacefully after a few weeks of being unwell. He was a lovely quiet man and its very hard on the family.. RIP Gerry and keep smiling down on us all..xxxx

So I made a New Years Resolution that I was going to try and blog in 2010.... so here it goes.

Christmas... DH cooked dinner on Christmas Day for ourselves and 10 family members. I had great intentions of taking photos of the table however, the best laid plans never happen.. Little fella wasn't well and we ended up paying a visit to Temple Street that evening as his temperature had gone to 40.9 and I couldn't get it to come down.. It was so busy... but after 1 a.m. they were happy that his temp and checkup were o.k. and they let us home.

We didn't do much over the Christmas except relax, eat, watch t.v. and of course play with our little man which was lovely.....

New Years Day it was a repeat performance of the dinner but thankfully without the drama of the hospital visit... We were not sure if we were even going to have guests because of the amount of snow that had fallen on News Years Eve... but they all braved the weather and arrived for dinner.... We toasted in the New Year with a lovely meal....

Christmas 2009 Photos...... our little Santa Baby

I am sorry for boring you so much with such a long blog, however, I promise they won't all be as long....
